Perhaps it was COVID, advances in legal technology, or the global perspective expanding, but discussions related to changing the Model Rule of Professional Conduct 5.5 (MJP) and related Unauthorized Practice of Law (UPL) issues have heated up over the last few years. This panel of ethics attorneys will look at the current state of 5.5, as the ABA and numerous states continue to fiddle with it. The ABA Model is controversial, each state seems to consider ways to loosen the reigns.
