Conor Malloy

CARPLS

Conor Malloy is the Director of Innovation at CARPLS (Coordinated Advice & Referral Program for Legal Services), one of the largest legal hotlines in the country, based in Chicago. He focuses on process automation and leveraging technology to improve access to justice. A Chicago-Kent College of Law graduate, Conor previously served as the Project Director for the ‘Rentervention’ initiative at the Law Center for Better Housing. He has served on several Illinois Supreme Court task forces, including the Task Force on Generative AI and the Judicial Branch. In recognition of his contributions to legal innovation, Conor received the Louis M. Brown Award for Legal Access in 2018, playing a pivotal role in a chatbot project that won the same award in 2021. In 2023, he was named to the Fastcase50 list, joined the inaugural AI Innovation Lab at the 1871 Innovation Hub, and saw his project, Rentervention, win the Chicago Innovation Award. Most recently, in 2024, he received the Clio Reisman Award for Legal Innovation, which honors leaders who are transforming the legal industry through technology, creativity, and forward-thinking practices.
