6 TECHSHOW’s Ago – Debbie Foster Reflects on Her Year as Chair in 2010

We’re on a TECHSHOW countdown and with 6 days to go, we’re hopping in the WayBack Machine to hear from past chairs and take a look at What Was at TECHSHOW!

What was / were the notable topics/tracks of your year?

We had 2 Solo/Small Firm Tracks that were really popular, covering just about every technology topic that a small firm lawyer would need. We also had a Face to Face Track that was hosted by our authors and allowed for a brief presentation and some Q&A time with those authors. The best part? Those were held in the Conrad Hilton Suite allowing the attendees to experience that amazing view of Chicago and Lake Michigan!

What was the hot technology or must have service, gadget or tool or idea?

Cloud, Cloud and more Cloud!

If you had a keynote speaker who was it and what was their topic?

Ari Kaplan presented at Lunch on Thursday and his topic was “The New Big Bang: The Convergence of Technology and Marketing”. It was all about leveraging the power of social media for marketing.

Do you have any great stories or meaningful show moments to share with us?

My favorite memory serving as the Chair of TECHSHOW was working closely with the planning board, especially having Browning Marean and Herbert Dixon join us. Browning was a world traveling e-discovery legend, loved by all, and terribly missed. Judge Dixon was a true gentleman and professional, and although he has retired from the Bench, I hope we still get to see him around. They both brought so much to the table.

Any final thoughts about your TECHSHOW experience?

Would not trade that time for anything!!
